This heavy duty ice cream scoop was hand turned from exotic Goncalo Alvez wood. The item has a durable finish designed to take daily use and even a little mild abuse. That isn't to say you should take it swimming or hit it with a hammer, just that is should provide years of trouble free use under those conditions typically associated with scooping ice cream. Two important notes: (1) Do not immerse this in water or put it in the dishwasher...hand wash carefully (2) Do not leave this item in direct sunlight for long periods of time...all natural woods will bleach with exposure to UV radiation.
